Mandheling coffee is named after the Mandailing people that traditionally farmed and processed the coffee beans in the Tapanuli region in northern Sumatra, Indonesia.
The majority of coffee processing uses the Wet Hulled or ‘Giling Basah’ method. ‘Giling Basah’ is the traditional Sumatran process that involves grinding parchment from the beans. This unique process generates the trademark Sumatran flavor profile that’s rich and low in acidity. It also gives a wonderful jade green colour to the green beans.
This coffee has a great body, with rich and earthy notes and a dark chocolate sweetness.
