Alex requested a low interest loan in order to help him prepare more land on his farm so it would be ready to plant a larger crop in the next planting season. He is optimistic that he will be able to produce a huge harvest next season because of the larger scale of his operation. He also plans to diversify his crop, making it more resilient. This will help him to offset some of the challenges he has been facing from coffee wilt disease, which affects his output levels, and fluctuations in the price of coffee.
